Sun Damage & Age Spots
IPL Photogenesis

IPL (Intelligent Pulsed Light) Photogenesis is a quick, safe, and innovative way to remove solar lentigos, brown spots caused by sun damage, from your face, chest, arms, and hands. The signs of sun damage will flake off after two or three treatments, leaving clear, younger looking skin.

The IPL Photogenesis Difference
We have a pulsed light system that is exceptionally effective at treating brown pigment from sun damage at a much more comfortable energy level than other systems.. IPL Photogenesis is the next generation in pulsed light treatments. The number of treatments you need will depend on the degree of sun damage, but you can expect excellent results.

What areas can be treated with IPL?
Virtually any part of your body with sun damage and “age spots” or freckles can be treated safely. The face, chest, shoulders, and hands are the most popular areas for IPL treatment because they have typically had the most sun exposure. Both discrete brown spots and skin densely covered with freckles respond well to treatment.

What does the IPL Photofacial do?
The visible light delivered is selectively absorbed by the pigmented spots on your skin. The heating of the pigmented cells causes the therapeutic effect.

What do IPL treatments feel like?
When the IPL hand piece is placed on your skin, it will feel cool and comfortable. When the pulse of light is delivered, you will feel a mild, brief, hot pinching sensation.

What happens after IPL Photogenesis and are there any side effects?
Immediately following the IPL treatment, you may notice a slight reddening of the surrounding skin. This typically subsides within a couple of hours. The brown spots usually start to darken within 24 hours of treatment. They may have a “ground pepper” appearance and will continue to darken until they flake off after 10-14 days.

Will the brown spots reappear over time?
No. New spots may appear. These too can be removed. Remember to apply medical grade sunscreen liberally when outdoors to minimize sun damage and the appearance of new spots.

Can all of my spots be treated with IPL?
Areas of brown pigment caused by sun exposure can be treated effectively. There are, however, other types of pigmented lesions, such as birthmarks and moles. Consult with your medical professional to identify the spots most likely to respond well to IPL Photogenesis.

Now is a perfect time to learn about what IPL treatments can do for your appearance!
